Signature Service Projects

Annual Fundraising Calendar

MVHLC needs funds to continue its service projects.  The annual fundraising calendar of MVHLC ensures that there is money in the Activity Funds to continue its service projects to the community.  Through our valuable partners, MVHLC continues in its commitment to serve the community through the five global service framework of LCI.

Multi-Purpose Liquid Cleaning Soap & Clobetasol Cream Donations

For the past years, MVHLC has been assisting schools  and Barangay units by donating Multi-Purpose Liquid Cleaning Soaps for use in their facilities.  This enables the school and local government units from purchasing cleaning soaps, enabling them to use the funds saved for other worthy endeavors.

The Club has also been donating Clobetasol Creams to the different Health Centers in Marikina City.  Clobetasol is a topical (for the skin) steroid used to treat the inflammation and itching caused by a number of skin conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis.

The Liquid Cleaning soaps and Clobetasol creams are donated to MVHLC by our partner, Goldwin Manufacturing Laboratories Corp.

Brigada Eskwela

The Club annually participates in the Brigada Eskwela program of the Department of Education.  The Club donates cleaning materials to the various public elementary and high schools in Marikina City.

Diabetes Awareness

Diabetes contributes to more than 5 million deaths a year, making it the eighth-leading cause of death in the world. And the numbers are rising. Lions and Leos are confronting this global health emergency by raising awareness of diabetes through Strides events, expanding access to care through screening and treatment programs, and improving quality of life through diabetes camps and community recreational programs. We believe we can help prevent and control this global epidemic by uniting Lions and Leos around this cause.

Disaster Management & Response

In response to the Call of District 301-D2, Marikina Valley Host Lions Club came up with a Club Emergency Disaster Management Plan, which it submitted to the District ALERT Chairperson.

Marikina Valley Host Lions Club is at the forefront of Disaster Relief.  In the past years, the Club organized same-day relief drives for victims of flooding in Marikina City and participated in Relief Operations in other parts of the country organized by District 301-D2.

Marikina Valley Host Lions Club recognizes the importance of an efficient Disaster Response and Relief Program, being based in a City that straddles the flood-prone Marikina River, and devastated by Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy).  Marikina City also sits on top of the West Valley Fault.
